Are you passionate about the production of quality lighting designs, with emphasis on the built environment and delivery of high-quality installations? If so, Stainton Lighting Design Services Ltd are looking to strengthen our diverse team.
We are an award-winning design consultancy based in the Northeast of England, specialising in lighting and electrical design, covering all aspects of exterior lighting, and associated electrical designs – the majority of which are in the UK and Ireland.
We currently have a vacancy for a Lighting Engineer/Designer to join our busy and expanding design team, working on projects ranging from highway lighting designs for residential, industrial, town centre, motorways and high mast installation, as well as architectural projects, lighting control, lighting impact assessments, dark skies projects, asset management and technical assistance to clients.
We are looking for the right person, not necessarily all the right skills – applications would be considered where some personal development is required, and a clear development plan would be put in place for the right candidate.
Responsibilities and desirable skills:
- Be able to work as part of a team.
- Understanding of relevant standards and best practice documentation associated with exterior lighting and electrical design.
- Understanding the principles of lighting designs associated with local authority schemes, public realm schemes, traffic routes and motorways.
- Production of lighting design associated with highway and public realm areas.
- Production of electrical design associated with exterior lighting designs.
- Production of general arrangement drawings.
- Understanding the principles of contract documentation particularly “Specification for Highways Works”.
- Able to manage workloads and multiple deadlines.
Desirable qualifications and experience:
- Experience in an exterior lighting design environment.
- Minimum HNC ideally in an electrical discipline.
- ILP Diploma, or similar, is preferable.
- Working knowledge of lighting design software, such as Lighting Reality and Trimble ProDesign.
- Experience in production of AutoCAD-based drawings and technical information.
- Experience working with local authority or national highways client..
Our main office is in Teesside. We do offer flexible working and there would be an opportunity to work from home for a proportion of time – determined by location and experience.
