ILP ON STAGE AT CLERKENWELL DESIGN WEEK

This month’s Clerkenwell Design Week will see ILP members taking to the stage to discuss all-things lighting.

The week, which runs from 21-23 May, includes an extensive programme of light-related talks and presentations, led by [d]arc media as part of the ‘[d]arc thoughts’ stream.

On 22 May, for example, Sanjit Bahra of DesignPlusLight will be among a panel discussing ‘elevating your brand and business through strategic commercial interior and lighting design’.

Sanjit, whose work on London’s One Paddington Square is featured in this month’s edition of Lighting Journal, will be joined by Matt Waring, editor of [d]arc media and Mara Miller of Industville.

The event will take place from 1pm at the House of Detention at 12 Sans Walk.

Later on the same day, from 4pm, the ILP’s ‘How to be brilliant’ will return, with Melissa Byers, Abbie Hill, and Anna Freiesleben of Michael Grubb Studio discussing ‘how to be brilliant… at curating the concept’.

Again being held at the House of Detention, the event will be followed by an informal drinks party hosted by the [d]arc media team.

The following day, 23 May, Kimberly Bartlett, chair of the WLP (Women Lighting Professionals), will join a panel to discuss ‘women’s communities: why do they exist?’.

This event, part of the ‘Design meets’ stream at Spa Fields, Northampton Road, will run from 11am.

Kimberly will be joined by Carmela Dagneloo of Ridge and Partners, Rachael Davidson of Hut Architecture, and Harsha Kotak of SDC-Sustainable Design Collective. Between them they will be representing Women in Lighting, Women in Office Design, WLP, Women in Architecture, and the Women in Furniture Network.
