ILP and LUCI in co-operation agreement

LUCI Association has welcomed the deepening of its relationship with the ILP following the recent ‘Cities & Lighting Summit’ in London.

Then ILP President Perry Hazell (now Immediate Past President) met with LUCI Association president Fatiha El Moudni at the event, held at London’s Barbican in April, where three new partnerships were agreed.

LUCI signed cooperation agreements with Efus (the European Forum for Urban Security), Women in Lighting (WIL), and the ILP.

Efus is a network dedicated to fostering discussion, cooperation and support among local and regional authorities in the field of crime prevention and urban security. Founded in 1987, it brings together nearly 250 cities and regions from 17 countries in Europe.

Women in Lighting (as many ILP members will be aware) is the global digital platform that profiles women working in the field of lighting and lighting design, promotes their achievements, and helps to narrate and celebrate their career paths and goals.

“These new partnerships reflect LUCI’s continued commitment to reinforce cooperation worldwide on the topic of urban lighting, with a multiple helix model to create strong links between cities, citizens, universities, industries, NGOs and international organisations,” LUCI said.

The agreements are a further step towards fostering collective action in the pursuit of the better cities of tomorrow, as outlined in the LUCI ‘Declaration for the Future of Urban Lighting’, LUCI added.

Writing on the social media platform LinkedIn, Perry Hazell said: “It’s been brilliant fostering new partnerships across the industry. I really feel like this will bring lots of opportunities and knowledge sharing across the globe for both of our Institutions.”
