Lighting organisations LUCI and TALQ have joined forces to support, and accelerate, the development of more sustainable and interoperable lighting solutions within smart cities.
The move brings together The TALQ Consortium, the global standardisation body that enables interoperability in smart cities, and The LUCI Association, the international network of cities on urban lighting, of which the ILP is a member.
The collaboration is designed to support cities on their path towards more sustainable and interoperable street lighting, both bodies said.
TALQ will become an associated member of LUCI and LUCI will join the TALQ Partner Program, meaning cities will be able to benefit from a closer alignment between these two organisations, both of which have been active in the smart city environment for a long time.
They will share knowledge and future joint city-focused events and publications. The aim is also for clearer guidance on interoperable architectures and specifications to result.

The smart city world can expect to see the first joint formats in the autumn of this year,” said Simon Dunkley, secretary general of the TALQ Consortium.
