HEA issues new guidance on EV charging

The Highway Electrical Association (HEA) has produced new guidance designed to help clients and duty-holders meet their obligations under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM Regulations).

The guidance, which has been developed by HEA’s Technical Committee, is to be applied when considering, designing, deploying and maintaining electric vehicle (EV) charge points on, or near, the public highway.

The guidance, said the HEA, “provides guidance on the duties under the CDM Regulations, as well as practical advice for successful management of EV Charge Points installation and an example of the duties that the CPO may have to undertake”.
