ILP partners with SLL for ‘Illuminating the future’ CPD event

The ILP will be a partner at next month’s Society of Light and Lighting ‘Illuminating the future’ CPD event on dark skies.

The whole-day event, ‘Illuminating the future: balancing light and dark nightscapes’, is being held on 27 March at the University of London’s Senate House.

The day will be focused on discussion around night-time lighting, including the impact of artificial light at night (ALAN) on nocturnal species, crime reduction and public safety, and social interaction and community wellbeing.

There will be presentations from environmental scientists, urban planners, criminologists, and social psychologists, among others.

The event will also have a particular focus on the issue of design considerations for women and how urban planning, including lighting, can promote safety and accessibility in the night-time environment.

Tickets cost £100 plus VAT for SLL and CIBSE members, and £200 plus VAT for non-members. However, as a partner organisation, ILP members will be able to register at the reduced rate by emailing sll@cibse.org, after which they will be sent a discount code.

Registration on the day will open from 9.45am. Full details about the event can be found at https://www.cibse.org/get-involved/societies/society-of-light-and-lighting-sll/whats-happening/illuminating-the-future-balancing-light-and-dark-nightscapes/
