Registration for Lighting Live Local Authority now open

Registration for February’s Lighting Live Local Authority in Daventry has now opened.

The CPD day will be returning to the Mercure Daventry Court Hotel in Northamptonshire on Thursday 4 February 2027.

The day will bring together local authorities, consultants, manufacturers, researchers, and innovators to showcase the latest thinking, share best practices, and shape the future of lighting.

At the heart of this year’s event will be a keynote session on asset management and asset condition, a key priority for councils as identified in the ILP’s recent local authority ‘stressors’ survey.

The session will explore the key challenges of managing ageing lighting infrastructure, focusing on asset condition, maintenance strategies, investment priorities and sustainable approaches to extending asset lifecycles.

Beyond that keynote session, delegates can look forward to a varied programme of technical presentations, industry insights and opportunities to exchange experiences with colleagues facing similar challenges across the UK.

For anyone who needs to stay overnight, the ILP has secured a limited number of bedrooms at a discounted rate for conference delegates at the Mercure Daventry Court Hotel for the night of Wednesday 3 February 2027, in other words ahead of Lighting Live Local Authority on the Thursday.

See the details for both registering and booking accommodation below.

The sponsors for Lighting Live Local Authority have also been confirmed as Charles Endirect, CU Phosco, Hydro, and Stainton Lighting Design Services.

The ILP’s call for papers for all three Lighting Live events next year (Local Authority, Annual Conference and the new Innovation and Technology event next autumn) remains open.

Members are welcome to submit papers on any topics, but papers are particularly being sought on:

• Asset management

• Local government reorganisation

• Funding and investment

• Technical guidance and standards

• Sustainability and circular economy

• Adaptive lighting and CMS

• Skills, recruitment & retention

• Architectural lighting

• Innovation and emerging technologies

– Their preferred Event – Daventry, Newcastle, or either/no preference

– Their presentation preference – in other words a standard technical paper (30mins) or mini technical paper (15mins), where applicable
