Award-winning lighting designer Michael Grubb has written a book, ‘Stories with Light’, with author and journalist Francis Pearce.
The book, five years in the making, is described as a celebration of curiosity, creativity, and the many ways light has shaped our lives — often in ways we rarely pause to consider.
The book will be formally launched later this month during Clerkenwell Design Week.
It explores the world of light, lighting, and illumination, covering history, part science, and storytelling. It offers tales of gaslight-powered bagpipes, ancient theories of eye-beams, and the surprising role of lighting in early influencer culture.
The launch event, part of the [d]arc thoughts @ Clerkenwell Design Week, will take place on 21 May from 5pm at the House of Detention, 12 Sans Walk.
