Location: Hybrid Working / Midlands
Salary: up to 51K depending on experience.
The postholder will hold a key role in the client street lighting service delivery team, in relation to the management and overseeing the term maintenance contract, along with associated asset management functions. Subsequently, the postholder will take responsibility for arrangements and monitoring reactive works with the street lighting contractor.
Responsibilities and desirable skills:
- Plan and oversee the undertaking of network scouting.
- The coordination of planned and reactive maintenance programmes in relation to highway electrical assets, as well as monitoring emergency response.
- To assist the team by undertaking duties to enable the Street Lighting Asset Manager, Team Leaders, and Street Lighting Engineers to concentrate on complex and non-routine matters and provide excellent customer service.
- Respond promptly to enquiries to ensure customer response standards and performance indicators are met in terms of time scales and quality.
- Development of work instructions for non-planned works and monitor work progress.
- Oversee the assessments of work quality and suitability with specification.
- Ensure the maintenance of asset management system is undertaken in relation to reactive maintenance elements.
- Monitor and administer the Central Management System (CMS).
- Report on the status of routine, and non-routine works.
- Take responsibility for future work programmes and planning for minor works.
- Coordinate with Engineers and other highway-related departments ensuring sufficient information is provided to enable further investigation, or engineering work, as required.
- Take responsibility for the updating of the asset database as assets are upgraded or replaced due to damage.
- Be able to communicate confidently with external stakeholders and internal members of the service delivery team by letter, e-mail or telephone as required.
The postholder must be prepared to undertake some work outside normal office hours in the interests of the service such as during an emergency, scheduled maintenance works, or ad hoc inspections of the network.
Desirable qualifications and experience:
- Experience in a contract management environment either in relation to client
- or contractor responsibilities.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of term maintenance contract documentation and the application of NEC contracts.
- Good general education to GCSE or equivalent level, including passes at C grade or higher in Maths and English.
- Electrical qualification with application within a street lighting environment.
- Experience of providing good customer care – particularly in dealing with customer/client queries and subsequent contractor engagement.
- Experience of regular multi-tasking and dealing with non-routine activities as well as advanced technical and/or practical skills within a street lighting environment.
- Relevant technical experience of working in a street lighting environment.
- Relevant knowledge of legislation and codes of practice related to electrical and street lighting activities (e.g. CDM:2015, TSRGD:2016, BS7671).
- Customer care.
- Knowledge of Highway Asset Management.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Able to communicate effectively – both verbally and in writing – at all levels with internal and external stakeholders and members of the public.
- An ability to manage your and others work to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Excellent level of computer skills including the ability to use Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills are particularly important – both verbally and in writing – to suit all levels with internal and external stakeholders, internal members of the service delivery team, and members of the public.
- Ability to deal with complaints form public and other stakeholders, domstrating skills in managing and iterogating information and communicating with others.
- Ability to work within a team as well as on own initiative, with excellent customer care, and teamwork skills.
- Well organised and efficient with attention to detail
- Demonstrate skills in managing information and communicating with others.
- Ability to use and interpret schematic and layout information.
